what to expect
Art Tuition Sessions
I offer one-hour and two-hour one-to-one art tuition sessions, tailored to GCSE and A Level Art students, as well as home-educated students aged 10 and above. All sessions are bespoke, relaxed, and designed to build confidence, develop skills, and encourage creative exploration.
Location & Environment

All sessions take place at my home in Lichfield, in a smoke-free and pet-free environment. Tuition is delivered on a one-to-one basis, allowing students to receive focused, individual support.
Students may choose whether they would like music playing during the session or none at all — this is entirely their preference and helps create a comfortable and productive working atmosphere.
Before the session
For GCSE and A Level students, we will communicate before the first session (via email or telephone) to discuss current coursework, strengths, and areas for development. This allows sessions to be fully tailored to individual needs.
Areas of focus may include:
Developing drawing and observation skills
Painting techniques (oil, watercolour, acrylic)
Portraiture and figure drawing
Artist research and contextual studies
Experimentation with a variety of materials
Developing ideas within a theme
Advice on written annotations and sketchbook presentation
Exploring new creative processes
Planning and developing a final piece
Teaching Style & Approach
All sessions are delivered in a calm, friendly, and encouraging manner. A wide variety of art materials are available, allowing students to explore different processes and approaches.
Each session is adapted to the individual, supporting both technical skill development and creative freedom.
