About me...

I have been teaching children, teens, and adults for over 30 years, helping students achieve outstanding results at GCSE and A Level Art & Design. Many of my students exceed expectations, achieving grades two or more levels higher than predicted, with several going on to receive unconditional offers from their chosen universities.

I am passionate about nurturing creativity, confidence, and a love of art in all my students. For younger children, I focus on building skills, enjoyment, and a positive, can-do attitude, encouraging them to engage fully with their artistic journey.

Teaching children, teens, and adults for over 30 years.

I have experience teaching across all UK examination boards and supporting students to reach their full potential — whether that’s achieving top grades at GCSE and A Level, preparing for art scholarship portfolios for secondary day schools, or guiding students through college and university applications.

I am also a practicing artist and regularly exhibit my work. My most recent exhibition (October 2025 - January 2026) at Mac Birmingham as part of the Connected Thread exhibition, featured one of my textile pieces inspired by exotic and imaginary birds, created through quilt and stitch techniques.

I hold a BA (Hons) in 3D Design: Glass and Ceramics and a PGCE in Art Education, and I have a wide range of skills across fine art, craft, and design, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, printing, mixed-media, and textiles. I have taught in classroom settings as Head of Art in both state and private schools, in post-16 college education, and in weekend workshops for younger children, using themed projects and mixed media. I also have international teaching experience, having spent a year teaching in Australia on a teacher exchange program.

With extensive experience across age groups, disciplines, and settings, I am dedicated to helping students develop their skills, express their creativity, and achieve their artistic goals, whether for academic success, scholarships, or simply the joy of making art.
